DeCozen Donated $2,000 to Local School Foundations

Verona car dealership will donate $200 to local education foundations each time a resident purchases a car.

DeCozen Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Verona will donate $1,000 to both the Verona and Caldwell school districts as part of a program to encourage residents to buy cars locally and support the schools.

The Verona dealership, located at 225 Bloomfield Ave., kicked off a partnership on March 1, with the Verona and Caldwell-West Caldwell School Districts, in which a donation would be made every time a resident makes a car purchase through May 1.

DeCozen will make a $200 donation to either the Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence or the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation each time a resident of Verona, Caldwell or West Caldwell buys a car during that period of time.

In March, five cars were sold to Verona residents and five cars were sold to Caldwell residents, totaling a $1,000 donation to each of the foundations, said Michael Cerino, DeCozen CEO and President of the Verona Chamber of Commerce.

“We are thrilled Decozen is able to help support our local schools,” said Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence President Douglas Smith.

“We are a foundation to support the schools and inspire minds while raising money through private organizations, corporations or individual donations,” he said. “We support Verona students through grants and provide the school with activities beyond what basic taxes pay for.”
