ReplyI live 2 miles from Roosevelt School. The bus stop to Roosevelt is my house. My kids can't ride the bus because we are 2 doors from eligibility. If my kids cross Mountain Ave where the crossing guard is, they walk more than 2 miles (the eligibility criteria). The district wants to charge me $486 per yr per child to transport them. What do you think my vote will be for the referendum??????

ReplyI disagree....hospitals that provide appropriate care (I.e., trauma centers) should transport patients to their own facilities in the patients' catchment area. First responder training to recognize the need for Level 1 trauma via protocols and algorithms is what we should focus on....why pay for an additional party (SCTU)?

ReplyI would have a little more sympathy if he was a teenaged athlete (teens make these mistakes), but at age 23 he should have known better.

ReplyI think motorists are better at stopping at crosswalks in and near town, but that's it... For every impatient driver (in Westfield) who failed to stop for pedestrians, there were nine who halted on cue," ??????where were they standing 'cause I want to cross there!

ReplyI think the Extra Credit books should be reserved for late teens (at least) and young adults. They are excellent reads, but very graphic in their detail on violence. Unbroken was one of the best books I have read in a few years...a great Father's Day book idea!

Threatening will only get you as far as the roof....don't underestimate voters on projects beyond the physical plant needs....there's a difference between ipads and roofs! The board will do well to keep that in mind.
