Cedar Grove UNICO Collects More Than 600 Turkeys For Donation

Township residents donated 636 Turkeys, which were delivered to St. Lucy's parish on Nov. 20.

Cedar Grove UNICO concluded its annual Turkey Drive on Tuesday Nov. 20 by delivering the donated items to St. Lucy's parish in Newark. The organization collected 636 turkeys and an assortment of non-perishable food items. “The food was distributed to families in need throughout Newark and surrounding communities,” Cedar Grove UNICO said in a written statement. The Cedar Grove UNICO Turkey Drive is an annual event that has continued for more than 21 years, the group said. “In these tough times, Cedar Grove UNICO strives to continuously give back to the community through its many charitable events,” the organization said.

UNICO Holds Turkey Drive on Tuesday

Cedar Grove UNICO will be collecting turkeys and non-perishable food for needy families throughout the county.

Cedar Grove UNICO will hold another turkey drive on Tuesday Nov. 20 for needy families throughout Essex County. UNICO will be collecting turkeys and non-perishable food items at St. Catherine of Siena School during regular school hours. “In these tough times, Cedar Grove UNICO strives to continuously give back to the community through its many charitable events,” the organization said. Items will be donated to needy families in Essex County, especially those affected by Hurricane Sandy, they said. UNICO recently donated $1,000 to the Human Needs Food Pantry in Montclair.

UNICO Announces Annual Turkey Drive
