New York Woman Arrested Twice In One Night in Cedar Grove

After being released by police for shoplifting and driving with a suspended license, she was again arrested a second time after attempting to drive without a license.

A New York woman was arrested twice in the same night after racking up an extensive list of charges in Cedar Grove. Alexis M. Huchko, 32, of Haverstraw, N.Y., was arrested at  approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday March 3 after attempting to steal $193.84 worth of food and household-cleaning items from the CVS Pharmacy located at 387 Pompton Ave. in Cedar Grove, police said. In addition, police discovered Huchko was in possession of a burnt spoon with heroin residue and she had driven to the pharmacy while her driving privileges in New York were under suspension, police said. Huchko was processed at Cedar Grove police headquarters and released pending a municipal court appearance. About an hour after her release, however, Huchko was re-arrested …

Newark Man Arrested for Forged Prescription

Cedar Grove police arrest man seeking controlled dangerous substance from CVS Pharmacy.

Cedar Grove police arrested a 46-year-old Newark man on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8:44 p.m. after he tried to obtain a forged prescription from the CVS Pharmacy at 387 Pompton Ave. in the township, officials said. Jason P. Defina was charged with trying to obtain Promethazine with Codeine, a controlled-dangerous substance, using a forged prescription not written by the doctor, police said. Defina was processed at police headquarters and released pending a Superior Court arraignment in Newark on Feb. 27.

Police: Cedar Grove CVS Prescription Frauds Mirror National Trend

Several incidents are not exclusive to the township.

CVS pharmacies has been drawing a lot of attention lately from police following several fraud incidents where customers have been trying obtain controlled dangerous substances. On Monday, Nov. 5, Cedar Grove police were called to the pharmacy after a store pharmacist reported a woman tried to pass a fraudulent prescription for a Controlled Dangerous Substance. However, when police arrived, the woman had disappeared. Police responded also responded to the pharmacy, located at 387 Pompton Ave. in the township on Wednesday Oct. 17, after a woman tried to alter her prescription in order to get more Xanax than her prescription allowed. “A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Sarah J. Disoriented Man Arrested at CVS

West Orange resident was allegedly under the influence of drug and waiting for prescription in Cedar Grove parking lot.

A 48-year-old West Orange man was arrested after he tried to pick up a prescription from a pharmacy while he was allegedly under the influence of a drug. Cedar Grove police said Scott P. Dellosso allegedly drove to the CVS Pharmacy at 387 Pompton Ave. in Cedar Grove and was waiting for the prescription in the parking lot when witnesses said he appeared disoriented and called police. When police arrived, they said Dellosso had driven to the pharmacy while under the influence and arrested him. He was taken to police headquarters and released pending a municipal court appearance.
