Neighbors Voice Concern Over Possible Church Expansion

Residents petition council over proposed expansion of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church.

A dozen concerned residents of High Point in Cedar Grove attended Monday night's council meeting to petition the council and voice their concerns over an expansion project proposal for St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church. Stacy Kilkenny, who lives in High Point, addressed the council during the public portion of the meeting, expressing concerns over the expansion of the church and the removal of 111 trees for additional parking. “We think it would irrevocably decimate the area financially and ecologically,” she said. Beautification Plans and Improvements Continue in Cedar Grove

Council receives update on trestle; resident voices concern about potential plans for apartment buildings.

Cedar Grove is getting both greener and brighter. At the town council conference meeting Monday night, Township Manager Thomas Tucci reported the Beautification Committee recently finished more plantings, while lighting at the Community Park will be ready for installment next week. After placing 35 hanging plants around downtown Cedar Grove, Tucci said volunteers now completed work placing flowers in a wheelbarrow at the "Mayor's Corner," the area located across from town hall.  Next up for the Beautification Commitee is plantings at Tranquility Park.
