Verona police are urging residents to avoid several township roads while Verona Department of Public Works crews work to fix a water main break. [Updated: 9 a.m. Wednesday] Crews from the Verona Department of Public Works completed repair work on a water main break near the intersection of Grove Street and Ozone Avenue before 9 p.m. Tuesday night and the roadway should soon be open to traffic, Verona Township Manager Joseph Martin said Wednesday morning. The water main break Tuesday morning near the intersection left 15 homes — including Webster Commons — without water. Martin said Tuesday an 8-inch main broke and township department of public works officials were pumping out water with the help of Essex County and Cedar Grove, who also provided traffic control around the area.
