Verona Police, Youth Face off in Rock Contest

Cops & Rockers scheduled to take place May 18 evening in Verona.

Verona kids are fine tuning their instruments and getting ready to take on township police in the third annual Cops & Rockers battle of the bands. This year's show will be held at on Saturday, May 18, at the Verona High School Auditorium, 151 Fairview Ave. Tickets will cost $10 at the door. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the performance starts at 6 p.m. The show was originally scheduled for Saturday Feb. 9, but was rescheduled following a snowstorm. “We wanted to give local kids a chance to show off their talents at a battle of the bands and give them the ultimate rock star experience,” said Cops & Rockers Sgt. Verona PBA Hosts Holiday Costume Trip

Verona Police P.B.A. State Delegate Ed Carattini Jr. describes the Holiday Costume Trip where Verona Police visited special needs schools.

On Monday December 10th, members of the Verona Police P.B.A. Local 72 hosted their 37th Annual “Holiday Costume Trip”. Verona Police Officers left their uniforms hanging neatly in their lockers for the day and instead, put on the most cheerful, creative, and colorful costumes that they could find. Officers then visited numerous special needs schools throughout the county that care for children who are autistic, have cerebral palsy, or who have down syndrome. Verona PBA Holds Fourth Annual Christmas Tree Drive

Verona P.B.A. State Delegate Ed Caratini, Jr. described the group's annual Christmas Tree Drive.

On Sunday December 9th, Verona Police P.B.A. Local 72 held their fourth Annual “Christmas Tree Drive.” Members loaded Christmas Trees onto a few pickup trucks and delivered them to area families. “Every year we try to bring the spirit of the holiday season to a few families that need it the most”, said Anthony Condorelli, creator and founder of the event. Verona Police PBA Hosts 2nd Annual Holiday Food Collection

The holiday spirit came early this year making Thanksgiving a little easier for some. On Tuesday Nov. 20th members from Verona Police PBA Local 72 hosted its 2nd Annual Holiday Food Collection. Members gathered an assortment of Thanksgiving Day fixings and then prepared numerous bags of groceries. Hurricane Sandy Donations Collected at Verona Football Game

The Verona Policeman's Benevolent Association will be collecting items for Hurricane Sandy victims during today's Verona Football game

The Verona Policeman’s Benevolent Association (PBA) Local 72 will be collecting items for Hurricane Sandy victims during today's Verona Football game against Newark's East Side High School. The PBA is looking for canned foods, personal hygiene products, diapers, pet food, sternos, cleaning supplies and AA and D batteries to be distributed to Hurricane Sandy victims with the help of Goman's Delivery Service. "Please limit donated items to what has been specifically requested by the victims," they said. Collections will run during the game from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Verona High School. "Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance," the PBA said. Other items include:

Verona PBA Collection to Benefit Hurricane Sandy Victims

Collections to take place on Friday and Saturday.

The Verona Policeman’s Benevolent Association (PBA) Local 72 will be collecting items for Hurricane Sandy victims. They will be collecting canned foods, personal hygiene products, diapers, pet food, sternos, cleaning supplies and AA and D batteries. Donated items will be distributed by Goman's Delivery Service. “Please limit donated items to what has been specifically requested by the victims,” the PBA said in a written statement. Collections will take place on Friday, Nov. 9 at the Verona Civic Center, 600 Bloomfield Ave. from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Another collection will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Verona High School football game from 11 a.m. Until 2 p.m. The PBA is thanking residents for any donations in advance.
