Cedar Grove Approves Two Percent Raise for Employees

With no public comment, council OKs salary hike for non-unionized township employees.

With no public comment during a public hearing, the Cedar Grove Township Council unanimously approved a two-percent salary increase for all non-union township employees at its meeting Monday night. “We want to keep in line with other town employees so they don't get left behind due to cost of living increases," Mayor John Zunic said in previous Patch interview. "At some point these employees need to receive an increase as well because they really do a good job.” The council also unanimously approved three other pending bond ordinances for water, sewer and various other improvements in the township. Township Councils Meet Tonight

What's happening in Verona-Cedar Grove this coming week.

This week both Verona and Cedar Grove have meetings to kick off the week. But meetings aren't all that's going on. Both have township council meetings tonight. Verona's Township Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight in council chambers at the municipal building, 600 Bloomfield Ave., Verona. Please see the attached PDF for the agenda. Cedar Grove's Township Council meeting is also tonight at 7 p.m. in council chambers. Check out the attached PDF for the agenda. On Tuesday the Verona Board of Education has an 8 p.m. meeting at 151 Fairview Ave., Verona. This Week Ahead in Verona and Cedar Grove

No township meetings scheduled this week.

It'll be a quiet week in both Verona and Cedar Grove — no township council, no board of education meetings this week. Township councils in both townships have the week off, scheduled to reconvene May 7. The Verona Board of Education is also off this week, but plans call for the board to have its last meeting May 8.
