Verona Schools Seek Advertising Revenue

Board of Education plan to bring advertising revenue - including the Yankees - to the district during its Nov. 13 meeting.

The New York Yankees are coming to Verona — at least virtually. The Verona Board of Education unanimously approved a measure Tuesday night that will allow paid advertising to appear on its website as an alternative form of revenue. The district will hire an advertising company to place ads on the site. If successful, the district may look into getting a sponsor for the Friday Folder email blast or even ads on the Verona High School football field. The Yankees will hopefully be the first advertiser, Forte said Tuesday. Yankee Pitcher CC Sabathia Wows Verona

300 children show up at baseball camp starring star hurler at Verona High School.

Three hundred boys and girls stood on baseball diamonds at Verona High School Thursday morning waiting patiently for the arrival of New York Yankee starting pitcher CC Sabathia for the start of The PlayStation CC Sabathia Baseball ProCamp. Under a hot morning sun, the children came from all over New Jersey to learn the fundamentals of baseball from top coaches in the area, and New York Yankee CC Sabathia himself. Most attendees had their Yankee gear on, while still others wore jerseys representing their Little League teams, but everyone was there to learn the tricks of the trade whether participating on the field or watching in the stands.
