Deadline Extended For Cedar Grove Junior Baseball and Softball League

February 15 is the new registration deadline for the spring 2013 season.

Youngsters have a second chance to register for the Cedar Grove Junior Baseball & Softball League spring 2013 season. The deadline has been pushed back a month to give all players an opportunity to join. Forms must be completed online by February 15 or by mailing the registration form and check or money order to: CGJBSL PO Box 112 Cedar Grove, New Jersey 07009 “To be eligible to play a child must be a resident of Cedar Grove and first year players must submit a copy of their birth certificate along with registration form and payment,” the League said. Last Day to Register for Verona Talent Show

January 3 is the application deadline to register for Verona's 10th Annual Talent Night.

Last call for talented Verona performers! Thursday, January 3 is the deadline to register for the 10th Annual Verona Talent Night. The annual talent show, sponsored by the Spotlight Players Parents Association (SPPA), will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 5 in the Verona High School Auditorium. “We need singers, dancers, musicians, stand-up comedy, funny skits, serious monologues or even an animal act,” the SPPA said in a written statement. The acts must be between two to four minutes and must be easy to set up. An optional run-through will be held the same day from 2 to 4 p.m. An application fee for registration costs $10 per act. Register Now for the Verona Fourth and Fifth Grade Spelling Bee

The Junior Women's Cub of Verona will be accepting registration forms until Dec. 21. No late entries will be accepted.

The Junior Women's Club of Verona is now accepting registration for its annual Spelling Bee Competition for all fourth and fifth grade Verona students. “Registration forms must be returned to his or her teacher by December 21, 2012,” the Verona Juniors stressed. “No late entries will be accepted.” A practice list and rules will be given out to participating students after the winter break. Registration forms can be obtained from Verona fourth and fifth grade teachers or printed out on the Junior Woman’s Club website. The Spelling Bee will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 19 in the Verona High School auditorium, located at 151 Fairview Ave.

October 16 Voter Registration Deadline Approaching

Stop by the municipal clerk's office to pick up your registration form or application to vote by mail.

Are you registered to vote this year? The recent national political conventions are a good reminder to check if you are registered to vote in November. The deadline to register is Oct. 16, or 21 days before the Nov. 6 general election.  Verona Municipal Clerk Susan Neale said several 18-year-old voters have already stopped in to pick up their registration forms. “A lot of college students have been coming in to pick up their vote-by-mail ballots,” said Neale. “When we get closer to October a lot of students who live away realize they need their forms.” Some people who go away during the winter months to warmer climates have also been picking up their vote-by-mail ballots, but more are expected as the election draws nearer.
