Congratulations to Frank Anthony's for the best deli in Verona and Cedar Grove in Patch's Readers' Choice poll.
Verona and Cedar Grove residents certainly had their opinions when it came to this week’s Patch Readers’ Choice poll for favorite delis. With so many choices, readers made sure we knew just how strongly they felt. But when the dust settled, our readers chose Frank Anthony’s, located at 667 Bloomfield Ave. in Verona, as the overwhelming choice by an almost 2-1 margin. Frank Anthony’s serves both hot and cold deli sandwiches, wraps, paninis and salads in addition to classic Italian fare with a menu including pizza and pasta, steaks, chops and fresh seafood.

Verona and Cedar Grove residents have many options for local staycation, but it appears the venue readers chose for our Readers’ Choice winner for best staycation place was Jackal’s Stadium/Floyd Hall Arena right over the hill in Montclair. The Jackals, a minor-league baseball team that plays in the Can-Am league, call the stadium (also known as native son Yogi Berra Stadium) on the campus of Montclair State University home. The Jackals will host a free exhibition game tonight at 7 at the stadium against Rockland. The stadium is located at 1 Hall Drive. Verona-Cedar Grove Patch readers have had their say and voted West Orange’s Highlawn Pavilion as the place they want to take their mothers for Mother’s Day brunch. Located at 2 Eagle Rock Ave. within the Eagle Rock Reservation, the Highlawn Pavilion was renovated in 1986. The former open-air "casino" offers a romantic setting for everyday dining, as well as for events such as weddings and special occasions. The area is breathtaking and the views are indescribable.
