Cedar Grove Resident Competes in Charity Contest

Amber Delaney of Cedar Grove competed to raise money for Arms Wide Open, a childhood cancer foundation.

Amber Delaney of Cedar Grove recently participated in the annual Face of Bangz competition in Montclair, to raise money for her favorite charity. “The 2nd Annual Face of Bangz Contest is a search for someone making a difference in their community and who exemplifies Bangz belief that beauty is both inside and outside,” said contest officials. Delaney was competing to raise money for Arms Wide Open, a childhood cancer foundation. Although Delaney did not win the $500 grand prize for the charity, she was just happy to have the opportunity, she said. “I'm just excited to be part of the event and to have the opportunity to give back,” she said. Kicks for a Cause Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser

Soccer match between Cedar Grove Soccer Club, high school raises money for group.

The "Kicks for a Cause" soccer fundraiser to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser was held Saturday, Nov. 17 at Community Park in Cedar Grove. The day featured a soccer match between members of the Cedar Grove Soccer Club and Cedar Grove High School. The soccer club raised $1,5000, which was matched with a corporate donation bringing the total to $2,500 raised for juvenile diabetes. "We could not have been happier with the day, we had over 300 attendees, a 2-2 draw, perfect weather and all for an important cause.," said Cedar Grove Soccer Club Vice President Greg Dilley. Youth Soccer Club Fundraiser for Diabetes

The Cedar Grove Soccer Club's first Kicks for a Cause event Saturday will raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The Cedar Grove Soccer Club will hold its first Kicks for a Cause to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Saturday, officials announced recently. The soccer club is a non-profit group dedicated to promoting soccer throughout the township. The club consists of Cedar Grove alumni who coach soccer for children from pre-K to eighth grade. “The main event will be a friendly co-ed match between the Cedar Grove Soccer Club Coaches and the Cedar Grove High School soccer teams,” the Soccer Club said in a written statement. Kicks for a Cause will be held on from 2 to 6 p.m. at Community Park, located at Little Falls Road and Slattery Drive in Cedar Grove.
