Meet the Easter Bunny in Verona

Verona Juniors to host Bunny Brunch with the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny will be visiting Verona High School on Saturday, to take pictures with all the young boys and girls of Verona. The Bunny Brunch Easter celebration is sponsored by the Junior Women's Club of Verona and will run on Saturday, March 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Verona High School Cafeteria. The event is $5 per person but children under the age of one will be free. Admission includes a selection of bagels, muffins, doughnuts, juice, coffee, tea, a goody bag and special treats from the Easter Bunny as well as arts and crafts for the kids. “Remember to bring a camera to take your picture with the Easter Bunny,” reminds the Verona Juniors. Verona Juniors Announce Gift Card Raffle

The Junior Women's Club of Verona invites residents to partake in its gift card raffle.

The following is a message from the Junior Women's Club of Verona: Still longing for that gift you didn't get over the holidays? Enter the Junior Woman's Club of Verona's Winter Gift Card Raffle for a chance to win a gift for yourself! The $5 raffle tickets will offer chances for the following prizes: a $300 American Express gift card, a $100 Target gift card, and a $50 Home Depot gift card.  (A total of 500 tickets will be printed.)   All proceeds will benefit the mission of the Junior Woman's Club of Verona. Verona Juniors Thank Spelling Bee Participants

The Junior Women's Club of Verona thank the fifty participating students in the Verona Spelling Bee in a Patch letter to the editor.

  On Saturday, January 19th, approximately fifty 4th and 5th graders participated in the annual Spelling Bee competition held at Verona High School. The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona would like to thank all the children who participated and congratulate our winners. Verona Juniors Remind Residents to Contribute on National Day of Service

Junior Women's Club of Verona President Kristen Donohue reminds residents to volunteer on Saturday, January 19.

In an effort to promote volunteerism, the Verona Juniors would like to remind our local communities that Saturday, January 19th is the National Day of Service.   This day was created to honor the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  On January 19th there are a variety of events happening within 10 miles of the Verona/Cedar Grove area.   Just a few of the many wonderful opportunities are: A neighborhood clean-up in Newark, a Habitat for Humanity build in Paterson, a blood drive in Cranford, and a donations-sort with the Salvation Army to help Hurricane Sandy victims in Hillside.   Locally, The Verona Environmental Commission encourages residents to increase their recycling efforts on Jan. 19th. Verona Elementary Spelling Bee on Saturday

Verona fourth and fifth graders will compete in the annual event hosted by the Verona Juniors.

Expert fourth and fifth grade spellers will face off in Verona on Saturday for the annual Spelling Bee competition sponsored by the Junior Women's Club of Verona. Seventy-four students from Brookdale Avenue School, F.N. Brown School, Forest Avenue Elementary School, Laning Avenue School and Our Lady of the Lake School will be participating. The competition begins at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Verona High School, 151 Fairview Ave. Judges will include Verona Deputy Mayor Bob Manley, Senior Librarian Bill Trafton, and Forest Ave. Principal Jeffrey Monacelli, who has participated as a Spelling Bee judge for the past five years. Good luck to all participating students!
