Cedar Grove Police Make DWI Arrest After Crash

A Rutherford man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

A Rutherford man was arrested on drunk driving and posession charges following a Wednesday, Nov. 28 car crash near a Cedar Grove intersection, police said. Robert G. Waldron, 51, was arrested after crashing near the intersection of Pompton and Montclair avenues. According to Cedar Grove Police Chief Richard Vanderstreet, a car was stopped at the light on Pompton Avenue and Montclair Avenue when Waldron allegedly rear ended the first vehicle. There were no injuries reported in the crash, he said. Waldron was charged with driving while intoxicated and the illegal possession of the drug Klonopin. He was taken to police headquarters and released pending a Dec. 6 Superior Court arraignment in Newark.

Cedar Grove Police Arrest 2 for DWI

A Little Falls man was arrested after he was found asleep in his car at an intersection while a Cedar Grove man was arrested after flipping his car on a utility pole.

Police found 22-year old Craig Anderson of Little Falls asleep behind the wheel of his car on the morning of Thursday, September 20. Following a 9-1-1 call, police found the car in gear, idling at the corners of East Lindsley Road and Stevens Avenue in Cedar Grove at 3:10 in the morning. Anderson was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a field sobriety test. He was taken to police headquarters and released pending a municipal court appearance. A Cedar Grove man was arrested, Sunday, when his car veered off the road and crashed into a utility pole before rolling over, police said. Police arrested 25 year-old Michael D.
