Cedar Grove Historical Society to Present Washington Commemorative Coins

The Cedar Grove Historical Society will host “Washington Commemorated on Coins and Medals” at the Cedar Grove Library in honor of the first President's birthday.

To celebrate George Washington's birthday, the Cedar Grove Historical Society will be presenting a lesson on significant events in our first President's life, through his immortalized image in commemorative coins throughout the centuries. Ray Williams, a former resident of Cedar Grove will present his personal collection of Washington Coins on Wednesday Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Public Library. “The mission of the Historical Society is to keep the people of Cedar Grove informed about the past and in various forms of history,” said Secretary, Vice President and publicity chairman for the Cedar Grove Historical Society Jean Jaeger. Pumpkin, Apple Sale at Morgan Farm

Many items will be available for annual sale including eggplant, tomatoes, herbs, corn stalks, hay, firewood and baked goods.

  October is known for many things — crisp fall weather, the World Series and, of course, Halloween. It’s also never too early to start your Halloween decorating. Each year, one of the most important parts of the season is the arrival of pumpkin season. Join the Cedar Grove Historical Society at Morgan Farm, 903 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, for the annual pumpkin and apple sale, running from Saturday, Oct. 6 to Oct. 14. Cedar Grove Stays Cool at the Movies

Township offers free screenings at library and outdoor under the stars on Friday.

The township of Cedar Grove is making it easy for residents to stay cool this summer with a series of Friday movies for children and families. Beat the daytime heat and come to the air-conditioned Cedar Grove Public Library, 1 Municipal Plaza at 2 p.m. today for the family film “Where The Wild Things Are!,” an adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, where Max, a disobedient little boy is sent to bed without his supper and creates his own world — a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler.
