Stolen Handbag Recovered After Verona Woman Receives Call

A 42-year-old Hillside woman was arrested after offering to return a stolen Coach bag at West Orange Burger King.

Police said they became involved after the Verona woman called them and explained what was happening. Great Buy: $1 Smoothies & Frappes

Burger King's got a great deal this weekend.

Temperatures are going to be hot this Memorial Day weekend. It's a perfect occasion for a Burger King special: all 12 ounce smoothies and frappes are only a $1 each. No coupon needed! Burger King says the smoothies use real fruit, so there's a health bonus (OK, maybe not that great of a bonus, but hey, it's a holiday!) Smoothie flavors include strawberry banana and tropical mango; frappes come in mocha and caramel. This special runs through Monday, Memorial Day. Not all BKs offer the special, according to their website. The Cedar Grove Burger King at 330 Pompton Ave is among the participants.

Free Fries at Burger King Today

Fast-food chain offering value size order—no purchase necessary.

To trumpet their new crispier, thicker-cut french fries, Burger King is offering one free value-sized order per person, per visit, all day today while supplies last. Best of all: no purchase is necessary to try the fast-food chain's top Whopper accompaniment. Following Wendy's launch of new, natural-cut french fries with sea salt earlier this year, Burger King touts its new version as coming from a thicker cut of potato that the company says “gives each bite more fluffy, potato flavor on the inside and crispy golden-brown deliciousness on the outside.” Despite its new recipe and recent marketing attempts, The Huffington Post still rated Burger King's new fries second-best of the three main fast-food outlets— ahead of Wendy's, but trailing …
