The based-on-true-events story "Argo," based on six American hostages who take refuge in the Canadian embassy during the Iranian hostage crisis premieres this week stars Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman and Alan Arkin. Also premiering is the Kevin James comedy, "Here Comes The Boom," the story of a high school biology teacher who moonlights as a mixed-martial arts fighter. Look for the comedy, "Seven Psychopaths," starring Woody Harrelson and Colin Farrell.

Animated films seem to be the rage lately, and this week's release of "Frankenweenie," a story about a reanimated dog from Tim Burton starring Catherine O'Hara and Martin Short, is no exception. Also premiering this weekend is "Taken 2," starring Liam Neeson as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a 'particular set of skills' who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. Also, the Indian film, "English Vinglish," the story of a woman who does not know English and is made to feel insecure by her family and society at large premieres Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, the expected high temperature today is 96, but with the heat index, it may feel like 104. Tomorrow, the high is expected to peak around 98, with a heat advisory in effect from noon today until 8 p.m. on Thursday. A heat advisory from the NWS warns: "A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected.
