Frelinghuysen Letter Thanks 11th District Voters

Republican congressman applauds constituent's efforts that helped get him re-elected.

I am writing to thank the voters of the 11th Congressional District for supporting my re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives.  I am pleased now to represent many new constituents in Essex, Passaic and Sussex Counties in January.  My heart goes out to those who are in need and to so many who were able to vote Tuesday and keep their community and America strong, despite incredible obstacles.  Our focus in Congress continues to be jobs and the economy, getting people back to work, government “out of their way,” lowering taxes, and creating a climate where small businesses can survive and flourish. That effort needs to be bipartisan.  I am grateful to the voters of the new 11th Congressional District who have allowed me to continue …

Frelinghuysen Wins 10th Term in Congress

Republican Rodney Frelinghuysen defeated former Roseland mayor, Democrat John Arvanites.

Representative Rodney Frelinghuysen will return to Congress for his 10th term following an Election Day win over Democratic challenger John Arvanites. Frelinghuysen, who represents the 11th Congressional District representing Essex County towns including Nutley, Bloomfield, Montclair, the Caldwells, West Orange and Livingston, beat Arvanites, who is the former mayor of Roseland. Frelinghuysen narrowly lost Essex County, earning 32,699 votes to his opponent's 34,008, or garnering 48 percent of the vote to Arvanites 50 percent of the vote. Frelinghuysen Meets, Greets Area Constituents

The congressman went on a diner tour of Essex County stopping locally at the Verona Diner and the Grasshopper Restaurant.

  U.S. Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen made campaign stops at two area restaurants Wednesday night to introduce himself to new constituents in the redistricted 11th Congressional district. Frelinghuysen (R-11th District) stopped at the Verona Diner, 676 Bloomfield Ave. and The Grasshopper Restaurant in Cedar Grove, 292 Grove Ave., and introduced himself to Essex County residents, many of whom didn’t know the incumbent or realize he represented them in Washington.
