Since the 1920s, the Verona Rescue Squad has provided emergency medical services to the township. This all-volunteerMore squad has at its disposal emergency vehicles including rescue trucks, ambulances and a command vehicle that doubles as a transportation for patients to hospitals if necessary. Susan DeWitt is president of the squad.
Verona Community Center Annex

The Verona Community Center contains the township's recreation and health department offices, as well as the buildingMore department and tax assessor's office. The complex also houses Centennial Field, where the Verona High School Soccer team plays home games, as well as JV football and lacrosse. It is the township's only turf field. Also at the complex is Veterans Field, which is predominantly used for intramural soccer and baseball but also for men's softball. The complex rents party spaces and has a gym upstairs for basketball.

The pool is entirely handicapped accessible. A large poolside gazebo is available for party rentals.

The Verona Police Department serves the township 24 hours a day with 31 sworn officers, three full timeMore professional dispatchers, three administrative personnel, 32 school crossing guards, and a full time emergency management coordinator and communication specialist. It also has a full-time detective bureau, and an active D.A.R.E. program with the schools. Chief Doug Huber and Captain Mitchell Stern head up the department.
