Council Meetings, Tree Lightings, and a Giant Book Sale in the Week Ahead

What's happening in Verona and Cedar Grove this week and what stories Patch plans to cover.

The Verona and Cedar Grove Town Councils meet Monday, at 7 p.m.

The Cedar Grove Township's annual tree lighting will take place on Monday, at 7 p.m., in front of the municipal building.

The Cedar Grove Board of Education will meet Tuesday, at 8 p.m., in the North End School Media Center. 

The Verona United Methodist Church, the oldest religious organization in town, will be the site of the Verona Historical Society meeting on Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. The presentation will feature the history of the Verona Methodist Church.

Verona Recreation will be hosting a tree lighting on Wednesday at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave., from 6 to 7 p.m.

The Friends of Verona Library will host their annual Book Sale on Thursday through Monday. Browse through thousands of books and DVDs for adults, teens, and children at major discounts. 

The Township of Verona's official tree lighting will take place at the end of Fair in the Square on Saturday. 

The Junior Women's Club of Cedar Grove will host a Breakfast With Santa! on Saturday. 

Take the Essex County Historic Holiday House Tour, a self-guided tour of 17 county sites, on Saturday and Sunday, including Kip's Castle in Verona.
