Construction Work Begins, Carved Pumpkins Will Be Judged

Construction on Linden Avenue in Verona begins Monday and continues for the next several weeks. Here's what you need to know.

The Verona Recreation Department will hold a Pumpkin Carving Contest on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Verona Community Center for students in grades 5-8. Cash prizes will be given to the winner of each category: Scariest, Funniest and Most Original.

Regularly scheduled Story Times & Crafts at the Verona Public Library will have a Halloween theme all week. Register here.

There will be an AARP Driver Safety Course at the Verona Community Center on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Cedar Grove Public Library will have a free screening of World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Celebrate Howl-O-Ween at Essex County’s Turtle Back Zoo on Thursday at 4 p.m.
