Fasano Bocce Bash, Free Summer Concert This Week

A look at what's happening this week in Verona and Cedar Grove and what stories Patch plans to cover.

Mariann Jansen, an active volunteer for the Cedar Grove swim team as well as for both North End and Memorial Middle Schools, lost her battle with cancer in 2012. The CG swim team will hold its annual Swim-a-Thon in her memory Monday, from 8 to 10 p.m 

The Cedar Grove Council will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. Councilman Robert O'Toole will preside over the meeting as the township's new mayor.

Enjoy a free summer concert when 3 Po' Tenors perform at the Verona Civic Center on Wednesday. Concert starts at 7 p.m.

The Anthony Fasano Foundation Bocce Bash returns for its fifth year to Verona Park on Saturday. The tournament, named for Kansas Chiefs tight end and Verona native Anthony Fasano, benefits “Rebuilding Together: Veterans Housing.”
