Hospital Center Employees Show Support, Gratitude to CGARS

$1,000 raised by employees of hospital center to benefit Cedar Grove Ambulance & Rescue Squad.

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. presented the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad with a $1,000 donation on Friday.

The contribution, collected by the employees of the Essex County Hospital Center, is a display of the appreciation and gratitude to the Rescue Squad for providing life-saving and emergency services to the Hospital Center patients and staff

“Our Essex County Hospital Center is a state-of-the-art facility that serves a very vulnerable population. While our staff provides extraordinary care to our patients, it is reassuring to know that the dedicated staff of the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad is there to respond to any emergency,” DiVincenzo said. “In these difficult economic times and shrinking resources, making a donation was the best way to show our appreciation and gratitude. This is an example of the camaraderie that exists between the County and Township,” he added.

“Our squad is comprised entirely of volunteers and we depend on donations from the community to fund our operation. We are grateful for all the donations we receive and appreciate the Essex County Hospital raising money to support us,” said Cedar Grove Ambulance & Rescue Squad President Doug Giblin, who was accompanied by Squad Treasurer Chris Stanecki.

The Cedar Grove Ambulance & Rescue Squad holds an annual fund drive to raise money to cover its operating expenses, pay for equipment and maintain its vehicles. When the appeal came out last year, Hospital Center employees hosted bake sales and breakfasts and collected donations to raise the $1,000.
