WHY GO: Muppets from Space Gonzo is contacted by his alien family through his breakfast cereal. He is kidnapped and it's up to Kermit and the gang to rescue Gonzo and help reunite him with his long-lost family. (G  87 min)

WHY GO: The Thrift Shop of the Community Church of Cedar Grove will be open for business on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Donations are accepted during shop hours. For more information, call 857-2762 during shop hours.

WHY GO: Our mission starts and ends with helping you achieve your weight loss or fitness goals in a fun, supportive, community rich with people who will encourage you towards your goals. Our free workouts are on Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

WHY GO: Children's Summer Fellowship begins after the Children's Message on Sunday. It’s a mini vacation Bible school each week. There will be a craft, snack, fun and, of course, God-time! Have your kids bring a friend!  

WHAT:
WHERE: Verona Yoga and Wellness Center, 546 Bloomfield Ave, Verona
WHEN: Sunday 7 to 8 p.m.
WHY GO: The idea is to relax, let go and restore. The room is dark and candle lit, music is soft and relaxing. You have a full hour of relaxation postures with the help of props, blocks, blankets and pillows to make you comfortable while you open your hips, chest, shoulders and your mind. This class is free but we will accept donations each month for a different worthy cause. 

 

CALDWELLS

WHY GO: The market is a seasonal open air market featuring Jersey fresh produce in season as well as specialty vendors offering farm raised meats, locally produced cheeses, pies, breads and other fresh baked goods, gourmet nuts, olive oils, freshly made pastas, and prepared foods.

WHY GO: “Aluminum Overcast,” the Experimental Aircraft Association’s restored B-17 bomber, returns to the sky on August 10, 11, and 12 at Essex County Airport in Fairfield, NJ as part of the 2012 “Salute to Veterans” national tour. Members of the EAA Warbirds of America who are experienced in World War II airplane operations fly the airplane, which is painted in the colors of the 398th Bomb Group. The airplane’s crew is available at each stop to answer questions.

WHY GO: The weekly Shabbat Morning Parsha Study group meets with Susan Werk to study the weekly Torah Portion. There is hidden meaning and learning within each parsha. Our active, engaged group of adults dissects the words searching for the true meaning of the text, and often applying it to our every-day lives.

WHY GO: Now for the 13th year in a row, the sharing different foods from different cultures and ethnicity is here again. And even more, the jazzy time is on again. With non-stop music and everyone from Grandma to grandchildren can get up and shake it. Everyone is asked to bring more food, chairs and umbrellas -- we’ve got the great music! There will be games for the youngsters including face painting as well as a popcorn machine. For grownups there will be services such as health tips including having blood pressure taken. Also International food will be offered and the chance to join with friends in this grand outing.

WHY GO: The Newark Museum's Dreyfuss Planetarium is a dynamic  interactive digital theater for learning about space and science. Two exciting planetarium shows will be offered to kids and adults Wednesday through Sunday through August 19. The Planetarium will feature Zula Patrol 2 at 1:30 & 2:30 p.m. In their latest adventure, a routine fossil-hunting mission launches The Zula Patrol on a rollicking ride into Earth’s past!  (Recommended for children ages 5 to 9; 35 minutes). At 3:30 p.m. Heart of the Sun examines the Sun up close, describes how it creates the light that warms us and makes life possible here on Earth, and is used as a source of renewable energy.
