Security, Music Room and Field Remediation Focus of $17M Verona Referendum

Second round of presentations on referendum plan scheduled for Nov. 26.

A second round of public presentations about the proposed referendum to improve Verona School facilities is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 6 p.m., in the high school media center.

The referendum, estimated at $17 million, would address three main areas — security and safety improvements, an addition to the high school music room and remedial work to the multi-purpose field, also at the high school.

Representatives from EI/Mylan Associates (district architect and engineers) and Promedia (technology consultants) will be making their presentations along with district personnel.

At an October meeting on the referendum plan, Verona Board of Education members questioned whether the security improvements presented in the preliminary plans were strong enough.

Once finalized, plan would go to a public vote.
