State Releases School Violence, Vandalism Report

New Jersey Department of Education releases Violence, Vandalism and Substance Abuse in the Schools Report.

Officials from the state released Friday the New Jersey Department of Education's Violence, Vandalism and Substance Abuse in the Schools Report for 2012-13.

Verona, with 2,177 enrolled students, had six incidents of violence, no incidents of vandalism, three incidents involving weapons and four incidents dealing with substances, for a total of 12 incidents. The district's Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying incidents were not available in the 2012-13 report.

Cedar Grove, with 1,625 enrolled students, had two incidents of violence, no incidents of vandalism, no incidents involving weapons, no incidents dealing with substances, and four incidents of harassment intimidation and bullying for a total of six incidents.

No Essex County districts were among the nine most violent in the state.
