Congressman to speak with students about current political issues and reveal his insights to inner workings of Congress.

Verona High School students will have the opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of Congress Wednesday when Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen visits the school to speak with U.S. history students.

Frelinghuysen will be visiting the school from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the invitation of history and social sciences teacher Chris Tamburro.

“I invited Congressman Frelinghuysen after he was elected to represent this district in order to give the students the ability to ask questions directly to a representative,” Tamburro said.

Frelinghuysen will speak to students about the current state of Congress before students will be able to pose questions to Frelinghuysen and discuss the current political climate in the country as well as New Jersey.

“I would like students to be excited about government and politics. Students should be able to discuss what is happening in the news, and how it will affect them, their country, and the global community,” said Tamburro.
