Apartment Buildings Approved a Block From Verona Park

Three-story buildings will include 20 units and ground level parking.

A couple of vacant lots on Bloomfield Avenue in Verona will be the site of two apartment buildings a year from now, the developer said.

DeMattheis Investments, based in Pine Brook, received approval from the township’s Board of Adjustment earlier this month to build a set of rental buildings at 435 and 449 Bloomfield Ave.

The development, which will flank Verona Place near Verona Park, will consist of 20 rental units, 14 two-bedroom, two-bathroom units and six one-bedroom, one-bathroom units, said Mark De Mattheis, Principal of DeMattheis Investments.

Parking will be located on the ground floor and apartments will be on the second and third floors of the three-story buildings with elevator service.

“We are very excited to bring this new apartment development to the Township of Verona,” DeMattheis said. “Construction drawings will be commenced shortly and we estimate completing construction for occupancy within approximately one year.”
