Councilman's Complaint Against Township Manager Moved to Livingston Court

Verona's Michael Nochimson accuses Joseph Martin of making harassing phone call.

A Verona Municipal Court complaint filed by Township Council member Michael Nochimson against Township Manager Joseph Martin will be transferred to Livingston's court to avoid any conflict, the Verona-Cedar Grove Times reported.

Nochimson took legal action after an alleged phone call he received from Martin last May. During the call, as documented in an incident report, Martin reportedly told Nochimson to "watch yourself," wished him "good luck" and referred to him as "buddy boy," the article continued.

The lawsuit alleges that Martin called Nochimson "while under the influence of some substance." Pat Toscano, Nochimson's attorney, then advised the Township Council last month to direct Martin to receive a psychiatric and psychological evaluation, the Times reported.
