Verona, Cedar Grove Lose Power Again

Township losing power as a nor'easter hits New Jersey, just a few days after residents got their power back following Hurricane Sandy.

Here we go again.

Residents of Verona and Cedar Grove are losing power once again as a nor'easter, now named Winter Storm Athena, hit the towns on Wednesday afternoon.

“The township is experiencing a wide spread power outage,” Cedar Grove police said. “PSE&G is aware of the problem and is working on a repair.”

Residents of both towns were just starting to get their power back after Hurricane Sandy ravaged New Jersey.

Verona police are reporting power outages in the Fairview Avenue section of the town due to a Cedar Grove car accident.

Verona police are urging residents to call PSE&G instead of the police desk.

Cedar Grove has arranged a warming station at the town's Ambulance and Rescue Squad for anyone without power. Residents can bring their toiletries, take a hot shower, charge their devices and enjoy the warmth.

To make arrangements to use the facility call the Cedar Grove Police non-emergency number at (973) 239-4100.
