Governor Stops at Groundbreaking in Cedar Grove

New facility for Essex County Public Works will replace 19th century buildings.

In the photo above, Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. (center) was joined by Gov. Chris Christie at the groundbreaking of the new Essex County Public Works Building in Cedar Grove on Friday.

The state-of-the-art building will replace 19th century buildings with a modern structure designed with office areas and work spaces that provide employees with up-to-date, appropriate and safe conditions.

Participating in the ceremonial groundbreaking are (from left) Cedar Grove Mayor Robert O'Toole, Freeholder Vice President Patricia Sebold, Architect Gregory Comito, NJ State Senator and Essex County Deputy Chief of Staff Teresa Ruiz, Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver, Gov. Christie, DiVincenzo, Sheriff Armando Fontoura, Nutley-Belleville Disabled Veterans Association Commander Joe Fornoratto and William Kennedy of the Essex County Building Trades Council.
