Decrease in Voter Turnout Mirrors Statewide Trend

Verona, Cedar Grove show a decrease in voter turnout from 2008 to 2012.

In the week prior to the election, Hurricane Sandy ravaged New Jersey causing widespread power outages and gas shortages. As a result, many residents were displaced causing a number of issues with electronic ballots, including deadline extensions.

The towns are not alone in the decrease in voters and New Jersey may have hit a record-low voter turnout, according to a report by NJ.com
