Woman Let Teens Drink at Her House, Police Say

Cedar Grove Police said two drunk teens at Saturday night party were hospitalized for treatment.

Two drunk teens were hospitalized and a Cedar Grove woman was arrested for allegedly permitting minors to drink at her house Saturday night, police said.

Susan E. Cuffari, 50, has been charged with allowing minors to consume alcoholic beverages on her property.

Cedar Grove Police responded to a party on Sweetwood Drive at 8:46 p.m. on a report of a large party involving minors who were said to be drinking.

Police said they found Cuffari home with the teens, including a 16-year-old from Nutley and a 15-year-old from West Caldwell who were so drunk they were taken to Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge for treatment.

The other kids at the party were turned over to guardians.

Cuffari was processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.
