West Essex PBA Offers College Scholarships

Seven students will be chosen to receive one $1,500 scholarship award each.

Each year, The West Essex PBA Local #81, donates money for college scholarships to deserving local students attending one of the three local high schools served by officers of the West Essex PBA.  In the past 10 years, over $100,000 has been donated to scholars from James Caldwell, West Essex and Cedar Grove High Schools.  Funds are allotted for seven students to receive a $1,500 scholarship award.  The seven recipients represent and live in one of the seven towns that comprise West Essex PBA Local #81’s service area.

In an effort to ensure that the scholarship program and other charitable endeavors continue unabated, West Essex PBA President, Dave Courter, has announced an exciting opportunity to win a brand new car.  This week, the PBA released 750 raffle tickets to be sold for the chance to win a 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 valued at $35,385.  This fundraiser, which benefits the PBA’s Civic Association, a 501(c)(3) charitable wing of the PBA, will have $100 tickets available from now until the drawing date.  Only 750 tickets will be sold, and it is expected that all available tickets will sell out fast.  The drawing will take place on June 14 at noon at the West Essex First Aid Squad Headquarters, 642 Bloomfield Avenue, West Caldwell.

Ticket information is available by speaking with any PBA member, by calling 973-692-8112, by emailing PBA81raffles@gmail.com or by logging onto www.PBA81.org.

West Essex PBA#81 is comprised of officers who work in the following police departments: Caldwell PD, Cedar Grove PD, Essex Fells PD, Roseland PD, Fairfield PD, North Caldwell PD and West Caldwell PD.
