Bobby Dawson, 30, of Newark, pleaded guilty in November to taking part in some of the robberies and Antwon Yarbrough, 27, of Newark, was charged in September for his alleged involvement.

Darby and his accomplices stole cash, cigarettes and other items from the 14 businesses at gunpoint, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

In 13 of the 14 incidents, they used duct tape or zip ties to restrain the victims and restrained several victims at Pat's Deli last February with duct tape and threatened them with a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Darby faces up to 20 years in prison for the Hobbs Act conspiracy charge and the charge of brandishing a firearm during a violent crime carries at least a seven-year sentence and as much as life in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Darby also faces up to $250,000 in fines for each charge or twice the gross gain or loss from each offense.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 17.

The U.S. Attorney's Office credited the FBI special agents and the Belleville, Bloomfield, Kearny, Linden, Maplewood, Newark, Paramus, Verona and West Orange police departments in assisting with the investigation.
