'Real Housewives' Giudices Should Not Get Separate Trials, Prosecutors Urge

'Preserving marital harmony' not a reason to try Joe and Teresa Giudice separately, U.S. Attorney's Office says.

The U.S. Attorney's Office filed a strong objection Wednesday in U.S. District Court against Joe and Teresa Giudice's request to have separate trials.

Attorneys for "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" stars filed a request last week to have the couple tried separately so Joe Giudice could "exonerate" his wife without testifying at his own trial.

However, the U.S. Attorney's Office strongly opposes the request, citing identical charges, Joe Giudice's history of false testimony and "judicial economy," according to NJ.com.

"Such difficulty does not infringe upon a fundamental right, and it manifestly does not require the Court to hold two separate trials on identical offenses for the sake of preserving marital harmony," a portion of the objection reads, according to the article.

The trial is scheduled to start in April, after taping of the Bravo reality show's fifth season has been completed.

The Towaco residents pleaded not guilty in November to two new fraud charges regarding bank and loan application fraud. This brings their total of indictments up to 41 counts.

Joe Giudice also has other trials in 2014 for charges related to fraudulently obtaining a state driver’s license from the Paterson branch of the Motor Vehicle Office in June 2010 using his brother’s ID.

I hope the courthouse tables are bolted securely to the floor. This feral lady may flip it over when she's sentenced to the big house.

This is not news. It's celebrity gossip. Save it for the tabloids. There are way more important and interesting trials being conducted on a daily basis that probably have more of an effect on peoples lives than this. Dissapointing to see among the top stories for Rumson - Fair Haven...

What awful parents these two are. Shame on them. All this ugly woman talks about is how "beautiful and Lovely" her children are, not about how intelligent they are. Both bozo's are vain and only care about outwardly appearances. Greed and ignorance will do that to you. Glad they will be tried together...I predict 10 years of jail or more for them each. Stealing other people's money and then trying to obtain bankruptcy....yet they are both driving luxury cars, taking trips, have two homes. Hey Lake Valhalla members...the Guidice family is trying to become members of your club (even though they say they have no money) You better voice your opinion to whomever selects new members...you too will be stood up for membership fees, have fights in your club or bring the negative vibe that follows these criminals.

Not including the DUI's that fat Joe has. He certainly is a risk to the club.
