Outgoing Cedar Grove Fire Chief Returns to Rank and File

More than two dozen firefighters honored at service dinner.

The Cedar Grove Fire Department honored outgoing Chief Michael Tower at the department's annual service dinner Saturday night.

Chief Tower served two years in each of three positions: 1st Deputy, 2nd Deputy and Chief. Tower was presented with a black firefighter’s helmet, his mounted chief’s helmet shield and chest badge. 

Tower will make good use of the black firefighter’s helmet when he returns to the rank and file as a line firefighter in Center Fire Company No. 1, where he has served for more than 25 years.
