Cedar Grove police arrested a 46-year-old Newark man on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8:44 p.m. after he tried to obtain a forged prescription from the <a href="https://patch.com/L-htqf" rel="nofollow">CVS Pharmacy</a> at 387 Pompton Ave. in the township, officials said. Jason P. Defina was charged with trying to obtain Promethazine with Codeine, a controlled-dangerous substance, using a forged prescription not written by the doctor, police said. Defina was processed at police headquarters and released pending a Superior Court arraignment in Newark on Feb. 27.
