Cedar Grove Teen Stabbed to Death, Prosecutor Says

A teen stabbed to death in Little Falls early Monday morning has been identified as a Cedar Grove resident, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Jonathan Lafontaine, has been arrested in connection with the killing, Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a release. 

More details are expected to be released about the teen's death at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Authorities responded to the house on Jacobus Avenue at about 2 a.m. on a report of a deadly stabbing, according to published reports. A standoff ensued between a SWAT team and five people barricaded inside the house, according to reports. 

Hostage negotiators managed to get four of the people to surrender to police and were taken into custody, while a fifth, Lafontaine, was later arrested, reports said.
