Cedar Grove Mom Says She Did Not Give Consent for Teens Drinking at Party

Minors from Nutley and West Caldwell were hospitalized.

A Cedar Grove mother who was arrested Saturday for allegedly consenting to minors drinking at her house told her side of the story to CBS News this week.

Susan Cuffari, 50, said while she gave her daughter permission to have the Cedar Grove football team and cheerleaders over for a party, she did not consent to them drinking and using drugs. Cuffari said things got out of control when word of the get together spread on social media.

The mom told CBS she's the one who called police to break up the wild party that spilled into the street. Now she's "shaking in her boots" that her reputation has been tarnished.

Two teenagers, a 16-year-old from Nutley and a 15-year-old from West Caldwell, were so intoxicated they were hospitalized for treatment.

The Cedar Grove teens at the party could face suspension.
