The Cedar Grove Fire Department is one of a dozen firehouses in the tri-state area competing in the semi-finals of the CBS Radio New York Firehouse Chili Cook-Off Contest.

Cedar Grove’s recipe will be cooked, tasted and judged by local sports figures during Sunday’s semi-final round at Miller’s Ale House in Paramus. Other competitors this weekend include Little Falls, Paramus and North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue.

Celebrity judges include former New York Giant and CBS Sports Radio host, Tiki Barber, and former NFL punter Sean Landeta.

Fans and friends are encouraged to attend, cheer on their favorites and sample some chili.

Each semi-finalist will receive a $500 donation to their charity of choice.

The winning firehouse from each event will compete in the final round on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at Suite 36 in New York City (16 West 36th St.), where the ultimate Firehouse Chili Cook-Off winner will be crowned.

The grand-prize winning firehouse will receive VIP tickets to a 2014 New York Yankees game at Yankee Stadium.
