Sal & Sal Ferruggia present Mrs. Mary Pat Christie with a birdhouse in honor of AUTISM AWARENESS

Little Sal of "Sal Ferruggia and Sal Ferruggia, Partners" began in 2006 when he was 3 years old and he helped his grandfather assemble his swing set.  It was that day that we formed our "Forever Partnership."  He is now a 5th grader at Cedar Grove Middle School.

Sal has always displayed an affinity for being a wonderful little boy having been taught by his mom, his dad, his grandparents, uncles and aunts. Growing up he was taught so many wonderfully kind ways of life which solidified his eagerly positive response to my question a couple of years ago, "Partner, would you like our "partnership" to build bird houses for children in need, children with Autism?"  After I explained the premise of Autism, he enthusiastically and with so much warm-heartedness replied, "Of course, Partner, I always want to help others.  It makes me feel good.  I want to have a good heart."

Since then, we built and donated 100 or so bird houses and he took an active role in the building of each one.  His specialty, under my watchful eye and guiding hands, was drilling the holes for the birds to enter the house.  He, among other decorative work, drilled every single hole.  We, his entire family as mentioned above, are so proud of this little Angel and we all THANK GOD for him.

We are very much in tune with the fact that our Governor Chris Christie's wife, Mary Pat has an exceptional affinity for  those "GOD BLESSED" children with Autism.

It is with pride and genuine thanks that we presented our Governor and his extraordinarily compassionate wife with their own personal birdhouse emphasizing AUTISM AWARENESS.

On a personal note I want to thank all the county workers that assisted us at Turtle Back Zoo and the Essex County Technical School for helping make my grandson the wonderful young man that he has become.
