Local Dentist Will Buy Back Candy for Troops

Bring unopened candy to Pompton Avenue office.

For the seventh year, a local dentist will hold a Candy Buy Back for U.S. Troops after Halloween. 

Dr. Stephen Sandler will pay $1 a pound for unopened candy brought into his office at 245 Pompton Ave., in Verona.

The candy will be given to the Cedar Grove Elks who will create care packages for troops overseas.

"We hope to beat our record of 450 pounds," Dr. Sandler said.

Sandler said Saturday is the biggest collection day, but the office will continue to accept candy and requested supplies through next week. Check the website for hours or call 973-857-1326.
