Local Restaurant Helps Raise Funds for Girl With Cancer

Bella Gente fundraiser helps 4-year-old Angelina, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma earlier this year.

Verona continues to rally around a four-year-old girl and her family.

Bella Gente recently held a cabaret night to help raise money for Angelina, who is battling a rare form of cancer.

Angelina lives in Parsippany, but her mother was raised here and grandmother is still in town. What is referred to as an Army of Restaurants has helped raise funds for the family's medical expenses by donating proceeds from sales. Bella Gente held a special evening last week with music and dinner specials.

Angelina, who was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma earlier this year, dreams of being both a doctor and a princess. It was only fitting that one of the two cabaret acts, Victoria Meade, sang “So This is Love” from Cinderella and gave Angelina a princess balloon and princess glasses.

In addition to Meade, who has performed for Disney, Bella Gente's own singing waiter, Jaden Jackson, sang for the fundraiser.

Lori Lyon is a family friend who helps organize events to raise money for medical bills.

"Cabaret Night for Angelina was a fun filled and a beautiful evening," said Lyon. "People were coming in the entire night for Angelina."

Lyon added, Prayers, support and love are so uplifting to the family. They are so appreciative. Angelina’s doctors are amazed at her progress. Prayers are working."
