Fasano Bocce Bash Proceeds Help Rebuild Veteran's Home

Kansas City tight end and Verona native hosts fifth annual event.

The fifth annual Anthony Fasano Foundation Bocce Bash returned to Verona Park Saturday.

Twenty-four teams competed in the double-elimination tournament.

Among the competitors was Anthony Fasano, the Kansas Chiefs tight end and Verona native.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Rebuilding Together: Veterans Housing to help a New Jersey vet whose home was damaged by Superstorm Sandy. Ed Abbate, of Little Ferry, served as a Tactical Navigation System Specialist in the Air Force from 1978 to 1987.

“They didn’t have flood insurance so they really have been struggling,” explained Pat Capra, director of the Anthony Fasano Foundation.
