Action Against Hunger Food Drive Dates, Drop-Off Sites

Volunteers will be at several drop-off sites in Verona-Cedar Grove area.

The 22nd Annual Action Against Hunger Food Drive is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6, from noon to 4 p.m. 

Volunteers will be on hand to collect non-perishable food donations at the following local sites:

  • A&P, 510 Valley Road, Montclair
  • Kings, 650 Valley Road, Montclair
  • ShopRite, 1409 N Broad St., Bloomfield
  • Foodtown, 597 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove

North Jersey Media Group Foundation’s annual collection is the largest food drive in the metropolitan area, serving 65 pantries which assist more than 40,000 clients.

Emergency food providers include the Community FoodBank of NJ, Center for Food Action, Bergen County; CUMAC/ECHO, Passaic County; MEND, Essex County; and the Interfaith Food Pantry, Morris County.

“We know that more than 1.2 million people in New Jersey, including almost 400,000 children, are facing hunger,” said Kathleen DiChiara, President & CEO of Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “With so much need all around us, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and our more than 1,100 partner agencies applaud Action Against Hunger for helping get food to our hungry neighbors, and for raising awareness about the dire circumstances for so many hard-working families across the state.”
