New Jersey -- The Oranges & Maplewood Unit of the NAACP is proud to announce plans for its 101st Annual Freedom Fund Dinner (black tie is optional). The dinner is scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2014. The event will be held at the Richfield Regency, 420 Bloomfield Ave, Verona, NJ 07044. The reception (7:00 PM) initiates the affair and the event closes at midnight. Tickets for the evening are $125. This dinner is the major fundraiser for the Unit and an iconic event for northern New Jersey. The annual Oranges and Maplewood Freedom Fund Dinner is more than a dinner; as it is an opportunity to showcase the diverse leadership in the catchment communities of The Oranges and Maplewood Unit.
As in the past, the Unit’s Freedom Fund Dinner will offer a grand networking opportunity so that individuals can celebrate the achievements of The Oranges & Maplewood Unit. In addition, the Freedom Fund Dinner provides an opportunity to gather and engage individuals over diverse issues and concerns that may ultimately evolve into developing common agendas. The Oranges and Maplewood Unit’s agenda is embedded in the Unit’s mission: to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality for all citizens while eliminating race-based discrimination.

Williams’ gives voice to the community so that citizens are inspired to participate in the contemporary struggle for social justice.
