Ester Rada. "Life Happens" Israeli-Ethiopian Soul Sister at OSPAC

Ethiopian Soul Sister at OSPAC

The concept at the heart of Ethiopian-Israeli singer Ester Rada's music
is so brilliant, it would get attention even if it wasn't so well
executed. Ester's big idea takes golden age ethio-jazz from the '70s and
combines it with classic American R&B  two soulful genres from the
same time in history that co-existed on different sides of the world.

The
band is passing through on a 40 city tour of North America, and in our
case, Ester comes to us direct from the Montreal Jazz Festival.

The road can do wonderful things to enhance the emotion in music.

The
result is a fresh sound that's unique to her, with lyrics in English
and horn lines from Ethiopia - all infused with an infectious rhythm
that will make you want to dance the night away.
