ACC C.U.R.E. to Host Second Annual "Run 4 a Cure" on April 27

ACC C.U.R.E., a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Adrenocoritcal Carcinoma (ACC), or Adrenal Cancer, announces its second annual Run 4 a Cure. The run/walk will take place Sunday, April 27 at Verona Park in Verona, NJ. All proceeds from the event will go directly to adrenal cancer research which lacks funding due to the rarity of the disease.

Proceeds from last year's run/walk were donated to the Millie Schembechler Adrenal Cancer Research Fund at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center under the direction of Dr. Gary Hammer - one of the world's leading adrenal cancer researchers.

ACC C.U.R.E was established in 2012 by the Gannon family of Montville, NJ after Linda Gannon was diagnosed with adrenal cancer in 2009. The family's mission through ACC C.U.R.E. is to raise awareness of this rare disease and support adrenal cancer research. ACC affects only 500 people in the U.S. per year and approximately one to two people per million are diagnosed worldwide. Because of this rarity and lack of funding, foundations like ACC C.U.R.E. are instrumental in helping to find a cure. The disease is typically diagnosed during the first and fifth decades of life, but cases of all ages are now being reported.

All Run 4 a Cure participants will receive a free ACC C.U.R.E. wristband and t-shirt. Registration for the event will begin at 9:00 am and the run/walk will kick-off at 10:00 am.
