Today marks the 16th Annual Verona Fair in the Square which runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Verona Civic Center Square at 600 Bloomfield Ave.
Residents can enjoy shopping for holiday jewelry, children’s toys, specialty knits, t-shirts and more.
The Verona High School Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Judy Szybist will provide music while an ice sculpture demonstration, children's workshop, moon-bounce, pictures with Santa and stilt-walkers entertain the crowd.
"Fair-goers will be entertained by Polka Dot, who will sing dance and get the young at heart moving and shaking,” said Fair in the Square Coordinator Diana Vitrano. “Strolling stilts walkers, fire eating characters and puppeteers will again interact and amuse attendees.
At 4:30 p.m., a special Christmas tree lighting ceremony will bring residents together as one community in the town square.
“Fair in the Square has become Verona’s tradition, drawing people from all over town and surrounding communities,” said Mayor Frank Sapienza. “The Fair is great because it is so community and family oriented, with plenty of activities, entertainment, and food; and will have children and adults enjoying a great day outdoors meeting their neighbors.”
